I come from a very musical family, my mother studied music and taught me how to listen for and sing harmonies from a very young age. I sang in the choir as a child and when by age twelve I decided that I didn't want to sing choir anymore, I took up playing the guitar.
I played in various bands throughout my life, most notably New Holland during my university studies and currently I am a member of the group Sons of Settlers.
Upon completing my degree in Policy and Value Studies (majoring in Politics, Philosophy and Economics) at the University of Stellenbosch, I proceeded to do a Professional Certificate Course in Electronic Music Production and Sound Design through Berklee Music College's online school, Berklee Online.
Since then I have been fortunate to have done some composition, sound design, editing, mixing and location sound recording work for some great clients on some really cool projects. Two advertising campaigns I have composed music for have won Loerie Awards, a bronze and a gold respectively. The Rocking the Daisies interactive installation art piece I created with Native VML got accepted into the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards in 2013, and in 2015 the short film, The Man with the Heavy Leg, for which I have created the original music, sound design and mix, made it into the Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Corner.
My skills include music production, sound design, editing, mixing and location sound recording.
